How long are the leases?

All leases are for 12 months. Short-term leases may be available upon request, but they are not guaranteed.

Is subleasing allowed?

Subleasing is allowed, but only with owner approval. The sub-lessee must apply and be approved before taking over the lease.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept payments via cash, check (personal or cashier’s), money order, and Zelle.

When is rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of each month. There is a 3-day grace period. After that, a $10 late fee will be applied for each day the rent is late.

What happens if rent isn’t paid on time?

If rent is not paid within 10 days and there is no communication or agreement on a payment plan, the eviction process will begin.

What comes included with each unit?

Each unit varies:

• Some properties are fully furnished, particularly 301 W Stadium Avenue, which includes a bed, desk, dresser, and closet.

• Others are not furnished, giving tenants the freedom to bring their own furniture.

Most properties are within a 10-15 minute walk to Purdue University, with easy access to public transportation for those who prefer not to walk.

How do I apply for a unit?

You can apply directly through the Hawkins Properties website by filling out the application form. A $25 application fee will apply.
